Extended Day Program

DCS Extended Day Program is open to Elementary and Middle school students (K-8) attending Durham Charter School. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. To enroll your scholar in the program, you must complete the registration form during our Open House event or via the attached link, along with a one-time non-refundable “enrollment fee” of $40 per child, and the full cost for the first month (August 2026) billing cycle, to guarantee a spot in the program. There are limited spots in the Extended Day Program. Should we receive your registration form after all spots have been filled, your scholar will be placed on the waiting list.

*Extended Day reserves the right to accept, deny, terminate or amend the enrollment of both new and current students at any time. This decision is made by the Director of Elementary School Operations, Ms. Marilyn Fernandez or their designee.  

COST AND FEES 

Durham Charter School (DCS) provides before/after school care through the Extended Day Program for a fee. DCS Extended Day Program operates on a monthly flat fee basis rather than daily or hourly fees.  This remains the same regardless of how many days your child attends within the month, and early release days are included at no extra cost.  

DCS fees are listed as follows:

Before School Only - $140/mo  

After School Only - $250/mo 

Before & After School - $325/month                  

Half Day (Wednesday) Drop-In - $50/per Wednesday

Drop in - $40/per day (other than Wednesday)

Late Pick Up - $5 per every 5 minutes late

Multiple Child Discount - $20 off each child after the first 

Payment is due by the 1st of each month. If payment lands on a holiday, payment is due next school day.  Families will accrue a late payment fee of $20 if their account is not paid in full by the established deadline (the 5th of each month) and the scholar will not be eligible to attend the program. Fees cannot be prorated due to absences from the program or early withdrawals. 

Payments are made currently in person at our main building until further notice. Deadline for registration and first month payment is August 7th, 2026 to secure your spot.
