A message from Principal James Hegmann:

I’m very excited to begin my first year as the Principal here at Durham Charter High School, and to continue our mission of preparing our scholars to excel in college and, or the career of their choice.

We have such an amazing community that really cares and rallies behind one another. Our families support our school’s mission in a variety of ways and they consistently show up to build the authentic family engagement that a school depends upon in order to support them and their scholars at home. The strong relationships with our families are what allow us as a school and organization to work in conjunction.

What really makes our school unique is the multiple pathways our High School Scholars can take as we prepare them to attend Durham Tech and begin working towards an Associates Degree or a Career Certificate Pathway. Together, these factors allow us to truly prepare our scholars for college and the career of their choice.
