Teacher Residents

Our teacher residents work alongside a lead teacher in the classroom and receive consistent feedback and coaching.  They are involved in lesson planning, individual and small group instruction, and even cover classes as needed.  Our teacher residents initiate their personal learning and develop the skills required to succeed in the teaching profession.  The goal of our teacher resident program is for participants to get hands-on training and complete coursework to obtain a North Carolina teaching license and become lead teachers in our building.

In order to obtain a full professional North Carolina license, Teacher Residents participate in a state approved licensure program that will be paid for by the school. In return, TRs commit to working for at least three years at DCS.
